About Us
Save Washington Pets is the name of the campaign to pass companion animal spay/neuter assistance legislation in Washington State. It is a trade name of the Washington Alliance for Humane Legislation, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the passage and effective implementation of humane animal welfare laws, regulations, and policies in Washington State and to educate the public about animal welfare issues.
Rick Hall, Andrea Logan, Kay Joubert, and Mary Chmelik are working as volunteers to help coordinate efforts to pass this legislation through Save Washington Pets. This work is being closely coordinated with the Washington State Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies' legislative committee and many other people and organizations that are committed to improving animal welfare in Washington State.
Andrea is a founder of the nonprofit organization Pawsitive Alliance, serves on the board of directors for the nonprofit organizations Washington Alliance for Humane Legislation and Valley Animal Partners, and is a volunteer with the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project.
Kay serves on the board of directors for the nonprofit organizations Washington State Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies and Washington Alliance for Humane Legislation, and is also the director of companion animal services for PAWS in Lynnwood.
Mary is the founder and director of the Washington Chapter of the League of Humane Voters and serves on the board of directors for the Washington Alliance for Humane Legislation.
Rick serves on the board of directors of Washington Alliance for Humane Legislation and is a member of the advisory board of the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project.
